Rabbi Chaim Greenwald joined Akiva Academy in 2009. He was born in Toronto and attended Yeshivat Chofetz Chaim in Queens NY. He received his Semicha, Rabbinic Ordination, from Chofetz Chaim after 10 years of intensive study. He also holds a Masters in Education degree from Touro University. Rabbi Greenwald lives in Haysboro with his wife Yael and four children.

John Hadden joined Akiva Academy in 2005. He is in his second year as principal of the school. John was born and raised in the Calgary area. He attended the University of Calgary graduating with BSc and BEd degrees. He enjoys travelling, biking, and gardening. John lives in Cranston with his wife,
Heather. They have four children; one daughter still residing at home.

 

Megan Dingle teaches grades 2, 7 & 8 Language Arts and Social
Studies.  She has 6 years of experience, having taught at a school for children with learning differences.  Before that she spent a year training clients on an
international scale.  She has a B.A. in English and a B.Ed for Humanities. She enjoys spending time with her children, writing, travelling and hiking.

 

Cheryl Gurevitch teaches grade 4 and 5 social studies and language arts. She has previous experience teaching in both Calgary and Vancouver, and has experience as both a teacher and librarian at Akiva Academy. She graduated from the University of British Columbia with a B.A. in English literature and a B.Ed. Her favorite pastimes include skiing and hiking in the mountains with her family.

 

Freida Litz teaches kindergarten general studies. She has 30 years of experience teaching children between the kindergarten and grade 6 levels. She has a permanent ECS diploma and B.Ed from the University of Calgary. She enjoys many activities including reading, cooking, travelling, shopping and gardening.

 

Simon Habot teaches math and science at Akiva Academy. He has previous experience teaching math and science as well as computers, electronics and art at other schools. He has a B.Sc, an M.Sc in physics and a B.Ed. His favorite activities are drawing, cycling and doing arts and crafts.
